House Democrats have published a additional set of what they labeled "troubling" pictures from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting notably Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—a portion of which have been previously circulated—along with another 70 issued later on Friday constitute a minuscule portion of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is looking into the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The shamed investor was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking offenses.
Among the notable figures shown in the first release are celebrities including movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are blacked out.
The White House addressed the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the images for partisan aims and to "seek to establish a false narrative."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," a presidential representative remarked, insisting that "this presidency has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have at any point by consistently demanding disclosure, releasing thousands of pages of papers, and calling for further investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends."
The photos were disclosed devoid of explanation, but per a California Democrat and senior member of the investigative panel, they raise more questions about Epstein's links with the rich and powerful.
"It is time to stop this White House concealment and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a comment.
The publication of these documents comes as the House panel pressing on with its inquiry into the Epstein case.
