Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in California he was 55 years old.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The renowned game designer passed away following his automobile collided and burst into flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on this past Sunday, according to.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts said.
